Clearly wrong.

I agree with all the logic about empanadas etc being dumplings, but extending to pasty's felt deeply wrong.

I think there's an intention to wrap and seal that makes a dumpling. Pasty is rolled; pie is covered.

Foods may end up in homomorphic shapes, but how they got there matters.

Kinda like, coffee is not a tea.
