Story time: Lunchbreak launched Scout Pass to the entire internet of degens. Pay $ upfront for a claim on a future stream of cash flows from txn fees. If you don't use the pass, you can return it to the Base smart contract for a refund. Was not PvP, but a land grab. Everyone rushed to get the most attractive spots. People tried to slam the contract to see if it would spit out more than it was supposed to. People set up multiple accounts to try to get more than their share. People watched as popular accounts got scouted, and aped in. After a wild couple days of trading, the project raised a ton of money, there were multiple failed purchases but zero collisions and zero free money glitches. Everything was onchain and available via APIs that people could run their bots against and write composable updates + Dune queries. @warpcastadmin.eth @jasonkim.eth and @privy had considered every single possibility of unfair allocation or loss-of-funds, allowing the blockchain to arbitrate all race conditions. 1/3

2/3 An impressive launch: - no need for opaque dystopian social scores to gate access - designed not to need sybil protection - you pay, you get to participate in upside - rules of the game were 👏 implemented 👏 via 👏 audited 👏 smart 👏 contracts - fund safety was 👏 ensured 👏 by 👏 top-tier 👏 third-party 👏 embedded wallets provider ( @privy ) - internet could bring down front-end traffic temporarily, but they kept scaling vertically and horizontally. Smart contracts on Base stayed live the whole time How some people got alpha: - N+M hours before launch, some people learned about the mechanism early - N hours before launch, the public learned the same information - T-0 launch, everyone interacted with the same smart contracts There was never a sense of we-launched-fast-yk-ofc-its-a-race-to-be-on-the-meta Never a sense of code-is-hard-sorry-someone-got-more-than-you-whaddaya-gonna-do-brypto-man Never a sense the team had never seen dirty tricks before
