i love this book so, so much. what’s not to love about a story where the bride of the sun god (turned vampire against her will) ventures into the underworld with an exiled vampire prince, to revive a dead god through necromancy?

i enjoy how the first half of the book is heavily focused on the world and charater building instead of rushing into the romance, which makes the love story all more heart-wrenching and yet healing. the FMC’s torn identity aches me every time - the constant battle between devotion and damnation, duty and desire - yet she shines bright from within despite the darkness and her life-long guilt enveloping her. 

this book is so immersive and full of emotional depth, with twists that made me almost lose my shit lol
