What a shitty day for the community.
A project that raised $60 million, had massive hype, and was backed by OP, Base, Coinbase, and others ended up pulling some scammy move. Not only did they not launch a token on their own chain, they basically called their own network useless and then handed out the meme "just for fun" token to insiders and top referrers only.
Regular users, who spent 2–3 years paying gas fees, didn’t just get nothing many actually lost $100–200 each.
After the Scroll rug, this was the second major scam I've witnessed in the past year. And the crazy part? With 3.5 billion tokens in circulation, they easily could've given at least 50,000 tokens to active users no referral crap needed.
During the hype, I myself was recommending people to interact with it, even when gas fees were high. I’m honestly sorry for anyone who lost money just payingsfees. Hopefully, Eclipse and Linea (which are on the way) will make it up to you and bring some good news. 0 reply
