Big props to the geth team! Have been trying to sync a raspberry pi node for more than a year, every time having it take weeks to sync before inevitably grinding to a halt.. but with the latest release and "path" scheme setting it completed a fresh sync in 3 DAYS and now runs perfectly smoothly!
