Each frame of its visuals is like a deep nightmare, yet that nightmare is adorned with romantic finery. The characters are lifeless in passion, and the paradise of bliss is also a place where the spirits of the dead roam. Desire, extinction, stillness, and life - "Yōnagura" and "The Song of the Wanderer" and "Dream II", which belong to the "Taishō Romantic Trilogy" as well, are all part of Suzuki Kiyomi's yearning for home. It is worth noting that Wong Kar-wai happened to adopt the theme song composed by Merin Matsu for "Dream II" in "Twelve Pretty Years".
