The Champions League has become much more interesting. Previously, everything was clear in the fall: the favourites would get out of the group, and they wouldn’t strain themselves too much when playing among themselves. With the exception of 1-2 groups each season, where only mid-table teams gathered. Now every match is important for both teams. There are no guarantees for either the top eight or even a place in the playoffs. And even if the top teams break away, they will still have to fight for higher places. Hence the nature of most matches in the middle of the tournament. The third round has just ended and I can't wait for the next one, November 5-6. Lille vs. Juventus, Liverpool vs. Bayer, Real vs. Milan, Bayern vs. Benfica, PSG vs. Atletico, Inter vs. Arsenal.⬇️

And imagine that Benfica “digs in” and does not lose in Munich, imagine where the loser in the Paris game will end up in the table, how low Milan can fall, and so on. In groups of 4 teams, half of the intrigue would have been gone by the fourth round. It's not just interesting for me to watch the current Champions League, I can't even tear myself away from the tournament table for a long time. The new format of the European Cups is the best thing that has happened to UEFA and world football in general.
