Thanks Brad. I love hearing how people connect to my poetry. I remember my dad once did a golf clinic and they told him that as a tennis player, he would not find it difficult. That always stuck with me, even though I play neither myself. 
But the love for watching tennis is still there.

I’m a bit obsessed with this part of sports—the meaning, the generational love and identity. Appreciate your poem and the story about it just as much. I appreciate tennis b/c my family has a tie to golf and they are basically twin sports.
