When trying to launch an app, always think ahead

1- When you work with developers, always ask why they chose the technology they chose.

You might not be a tech expert, but you will be able to assess if they chose it because it's best suited for you, or because they want to finish fast while discarding quality

2- Always plan for scalability. Developers might suggest different ways of doing things: a fast way and another that takes scalability into consideration. 

Depending on the subject, it is almost always better to choose the latter. You don't want your app to crash when it hits 10,000 users. And remember, starting right is insanely cheaper than adjusting later

3- IP rights: Many people fall into the trap of not preserving their IP rights. If you plan a project, always sign an IP contract that gives you ownership of the code. This prevents the developers from selling your code to other people, and hence your idea!
