I don’t think it is about the subpar product with CGM. I think there is a small risk of infection with the microfluidic needle in CGMs so the firms just are playing safe to avoid lawsuits and to easily manage the medical approvals needed

Another case of engineering being forced to ship subpar products that no one wants to fix because it has no political value
