According to a new report by CoinGecko, meme coins were the most popular tokens in the digital currency market in 2024, accounting for 30.67% of global investor attention. This trend, which has seen significant growth over last year's 8.32% share, has expanded from dog-based tokens to other animals and characters. Also, the SOL ecosystem was ranked second by attracting 14.30% of investors' attention, almost half of which was related to meme coins of this network. Base network also received 4.87% of investors' attention.
