I don’t think that’s a fair test - an immortal pill would imply a world very different than ours or maybe even that there aren’t any consequences of immortality

What do you mean as far as glorified? I just think it’s part of a natural cycle of life (which may be what you mean) which is:  birth consume die give back 

And makes sense as far as resource consumption

My point is if immortality was a choice, death would probably wouldn't be glorified as much. Maybe humans would get absolutely bored after living thousands of years, I don't know.
