imagine if metamask got hacked and every single user has 100% of their funds drained? fork? 

or if the same happened to hardware wallets?

or if the EF signers were taken hostage and forced to send ETH?

the thing that my fellow ETH nerds should admit, if we're being intellectually honest, is that there *is* some threshold over which we would willingly hard fork

in fact, the entire security model of PoS depends on us slashing those who attempt to attack the protocol
