Well fuck, I thought there might be at least *one* Ken Russell die-hard out there. I guess not? He used to be considered a somewhat avant-garde, boundary-pushing film director in his time, but by today's standards maybe he's a bit of a tired old boomer.

i've yet to see White Worm but they all are great to look at for sure. my faves so far are Salome's Last Dance, Dante's Inferno and Amelia & the Angel. he works really well in b&w too i think. & i'd love to see https://letterboxd.com/film/alice-in-russialand/ someone needs to dig through the tv archives

I love Ken Russell too. Even when he fails, he fails in interesting ways. "The Lair of the White Worm" and "Crimes of Passion", for instance. Neither of them great, but they have terrific moments and they're certainly not boring.
