Are bonds becoming more popular? The popular bond-tracking ETF, $TLT, recorded $2.7 billion in inflows last Monday, the largest inflow in the fund's history. Year-to-date, inflows into the ETF totaled $4.4 billion, matching the largest annual inflow in history. By comparison, $TLT has $54 billion in assets under management. All this despite the fact that $TLT is down -4% YTD and 37% over the past 4 years. Should long-term bonds make a comeback?

Despite recent outperformance, investors should carefully consider the risks associated with long-term bonds, especially in a rising rate environment. Diversification and risk management remain key priorities for any investment strategy.
