GM Friends Orangutans spend a significant time on big trees, resting or moving slowly through the canopy. While perched on branches, they often engage in behaviour like yawning, which may indicate relaxation, boredom, or simply be a way to stretch their jaw muscles. This behaviour is commonly observed when they are resting between foraging sessions or social interactions. Yawning, like in many primates, can also be a subtle form of communication, though in orangutans, it is generally considered a sign of a calm and tranquil state.
