The volume normalization is pretty important. The volume between episodes is sometimes pretty big, so having a consistent target loudness (-16 LUFS for podcasts) would be a pretty good quality boost.

Some audio processing could go a long way to having a more enjoyable experience. Lowering the gain on the microphone to reduce the clipping (latest episode in image, in Audacity, View -> Show Clipping), and adding a limiter/compression/loudness normalization would make the podcast sound a lot better.
