Collectors are willing to pay 3$ to mint your art but you only get 1$ from it I’ve “sold” more than 1k pieces on Zora. People spent 3000$ but i didnt even earn half of it.. Isnt the blockchain supposed to get rid of the middle man..?

Yeah alright, but my point is: Collector pays 3$ Creator gets 1$ Dont you think artists should get the majority of it..? After all, they’re doing all the work.. its their product thats getting sold.. its them who do all the promotion..

not necessarily, no. people are minting open editions for a variety of reasons but one big one is this system of protocol rewards. its spurred a flywheel of minting if artists are concerned with capturing more value per mint, they don't need to use zora or protocol rewards

Thank you for the explanations. So, Zora is not a marketplace for artists because we need more possibilities, such as selling 1/1 works that have been deleted. But the big problem is that there is no real marketplace for artists in this space with a frame as easy to use as Zora, maybe there's Highlight 🤷

zora is not really a marketplace at all, there is no secondary trading of nfts on zora as far as I know. It is a protocol for minting open editions, and the app is great for discovery. thing about 1/1s or collections priced higher is people don't really mint them apart from a few, super highly followed artists. its hard out there in NFT land. protocol rewards + OE has (miraculously) gotten people to keep minting
