I heard a good opinion re the crypto strategic reserve SR on a podcast today:

Trump is a strewed negotiator, often asking for a lot more than what his objective is. Getting a multi-coin SR passed in congress will probably be difficult, debated & delayed. He may be asking for more, then happy to accept a bitcoin only SR, and that would be easier to pass into law.

That scenario probably matches his approach with peace talks and tariffs. Negotiate hard, even implement some aspects, see who blinks first, and accept a “compromised” position which he would be happy with anyway.
