I Spy A young leopard had stashed a kill on a tree branch and was hiding in the bushes underneath. Occasionally it would check on its kill, and that's when I spotted its eye through a keyhole in the thicket. Ph: Turgay Uzer

Natural Texture It was late summer when I ventured into Algonquin Park hoping to find the cold morning air mixing with the warm summer waters of Lake Opeongo. I arrived an hour before sunrise. The air was cold, and fog was starting to rise from the water as the sky began to light up. The cloudscape began to glow and reflect in the calm waters below. I like big texture and colour in the images I create. From top to bottom and from side to side, this image is full of texture and colour. Ph: Dana McMullen

Clash of the Titans For a brief period in summer, stag beetles (Lucanus cervus) engage in fierce battles for mating rights. These elusive creatures inhabit oak forests, making them difficult to find.
