Princess's Hideaway After a week of non-stop rain, the River Conwy had burst its banks and was flowing with incredible speed. The colours were transitioning to the deep reds and browns of Autumn and the house over the bridge was looking Devine. Ph: Liam Willis

Crashing Waves I’ve always loved watching waves crashing; the bigger, the better! When the snowfall stopped, I grabbed my camera and ran to the shore. While I took many photos of waves that day, this was the photo that really spoke to me. The timing was perfect because this was the largest wave I saw; conveniently in the exact location where I had setup to take photos! Ph: Patrick Maxwell

Moose Encounter I was on a photography road trip with my life partner KΓ©sia who is also a photographer. We decided to start the day with an early morning hike under a light rain. The perfect conditions to find wildlife during spring season. It was halfway up that we came across this cow moose and her two cubs. A moment I will remember forever! Ph: Jesse Olivier

In Hot Pursuit I was exploring the Great Bear Rainforest on a sea wolf expedition with First Nations guide Marven Robinson. As we sat quietly on the rocky shoreline, a pack of coastal wolves slipped silently from the mist and started fishing, expertly navigating the river to catch salmon at low tide. Ph: Barb Callander

Bear Hug On the pack Ice North of Svalbard we encounterd a mother Polar bear with her cub. The Cub was very inquisitive, approaching our small ship, backing away, and returning to it's mother. This went on over 4 hours, during this time, there were moments of tender interaction with mother and cub rolling over each other and hugging closely. The scene was unforgettable with this show of affection in these inhospitable climes. I returned, not only with a sense of awe, but also very aware of the need to protect and conserve these magnificent creatures as global warming is causing the ise cap to recede, destroying their habitat. Humpback Whales in the Ice I had travelled to Greenland with the hope of photographing whales from the air, however I'd got to the final day without any success. So I was thrilled when I spotted a couple of Humpback whales in the fjord I was photographing on my final evening there. I flew my drone out over the ice and managed to get a few photos before they dived below into the depths and out of sight. Ph: Edward Hasler

The day of the jackal We were waiting at the waterhole late one evening. This waterhole was about 10 kms from the camp and it was getting close to the gate closing time. All the vehicles had left but I knew this Black-backed jackal was trying to hunt the doves and sandgrouse that visit the waterhole for the last drink before nightfall. Then as anticipated he made a charge and I managed to grab about 67 frames of the jackal having a go. This frame is beautiful as it shows it launching towards the flock as it tries to grab its meal. In the subsequent frames it is lost in the flock in flight. Ph: Edwin Godinho

Young Meerkat Discovers Fame I placed a remote camera with a wide angle lens close to what I hoped would be an active meerkat den and waited for some meerkats to arrive. To my astonishment (and luck), the den was not only active but there were three young meerkat in there as well, together with some adults. The young ones did nothing but play and quickly and easily found the hidden camera. I took several images as they approached, but this one is my favourite! Ph: Victor Soares

Bottled Up This image captures the brilliant lemon yellow bodies, grumpy expressions and emerald eyes of two Yellow Pygmy Gobies. This small fish frequently inhabits discarded bottles on the seabed. This particular shot was taken in the Lembeh Strait, an area where there is unfortunately a lot of waste discarded into the water. At least these creatures are able to make use of it. While in the Galapagos Islands I swam with young seals, they were very curious and interested especially in the camera. The large dome on the front of the underwater housing created reflections of them. Leaving them baffled and amused swimming right up to the housing to discover what the reflection was. Ph: Alex Stead
