I think you believe something along the lines of -- "it's [too early] / [too naive] for you to build or join a formal institution along existing models (startups, governments, cooperatives, etc)

What's an institution you really long to build, but you have to tell yourself "it's not worth it, atm", and why?

But I guess the naive response to this would be "form a cooperative" or "exchange something other than $" or "organize around a religion" or something along those lines.

Why is the naive response wrong, in this case?

in some sense my big dream all along has been to build a truly fantastic media organisation. I’m doing a 1-man version of it for now. it’s not worth formalizing beyond that because the unit economics doesn’t work, needing to pay $ etc distorts the incentives (which is why no really amazing media org exists)
