I think both of the following are true:


1. FSU earned a spot in the playoff

2. FSU is not currently one of the four best teams in the nation


The committee messed up imo by not establishing an explicit standard for deciding such situations. 

Luckily won’t matter as much next year w 12 team playoff 🔥

Also it’s why this four team format was flawed to begin with. 

Expansion makes the most sense.
