To the artists feeling handcuffed to a style: You’re worthy of having the confidence to create what you please. The artists journey is to experiment & evolve. You don’t need an alt to do something new. Have conviction in yourself & persist. fwiw these used to be my photography.

Thanks for checking them out For more context, the first 30 of these waveforms will be gifts to collectors of my first 30 1/1s (one 1/1 still available, will link post below) Code + pixels from the original image create a waveform representing the luminance/color values https://warpcast.com/andremessina/0x30861f39

@proxystudio.eth cont’d I will then begin releasing some experiments like these as 1/1s but it’s been on my heart to do something for my earliest supporters. This offers me the chance to do that while also marking my entry into a new chapter of creating art using the pixels from my photography. 💙

If you think of it like this gradient below, all the brightest pixels are at the top, darkest at the bottom. What takes place in my waveform is all the pixels of my photo are mapped to a coordinate based on their luminance. The green circles I drew on the right are the values of the streetlamp. Left circle=windows

I like the disintegration of meaning into raw data. would love a longform technical piece on the process
