A meme coin named after yourself—an unsustainable model? Have you ever wondered why Moxie didn’t fully take off, even though Farcaster users are out there launching multiple coins every day? For me, the realization came when @nounishprof said on a podcast that launching a token like /gmfarcaster is a huge responsibility. It’s much easier to create an event-based coin like $CASTOUT. Most people aren’t ready to launch a coin tied to their name or channel and then commit to a lifetime of utility "slavery" for that memecoin 😁. The event-based meme system has proven to be far more resilient. Plus, these coins can live on without you or your channel if the community is strong and has clear values. Murad also isn’t bullish on personal or corporate coins, and I get his point. This is the age of communities and their values.

In my opinion, Moxy’s mechanics of token distribution are neither entirely correct nor as popular as Degen’s, for example.
