Telegram has entered into a partnership with the non-profit organization TON Foundation, under which third-party crypto wallets in the messenger are now obliged to use TON Connect as the only connection protocol. This means that TON becomes the only supported blockchain for services within Telegram.

TON Connect is a set of open source tools that provides communication between wallets and applications in the TON ecosystem. Thanks to this, users can log in to services and applications through their TON wallets instead of traditional logins and passwords.

According to the updated Telegram terms of use, the messenger now supports only crypto wallets connected via TON Connect.
