Singapore has been named a global leader in blockchain technology in a new study of the top jurisdictions in the cryptocurrency space. This study was conducted by the ApeX protocol, a multi-chain liquidity platform. Based on metrics such as the number of blockchain patents, the number of businesses related to the technology, and the number of cryptocurrency exchanges based in the country, Singapore achieved a composite score of 85.4, topping the list of top 10 regions. According to the study, Singapore currently has 1,600 blockchain-related patents, 2,433 industry jobs and 81 cryptocurrency exchanges. These numbers are remarkable for a country with a population of less than 6 million.
