Jazz fusion must-listen album Heavy Weather The Weather Report Band was an influential American jazz band in the 1970s and early 1980s. It was co-founded by former Miles Davis Band member, Austrian keyboard player Josef Zawinul and black saxophonist Wayne Shorter. The band's music style is mainly jazz fusion. They break the boundaries of traditional jazz and incorporate elements of rock, funk, Latin music and African music. Their use of electronic synthesizers is particularly prominent. The release of the "Heavy Weather" album was not only an artistic achievement, but also a commercial success. The Weather Report band continued to play a pivotal role in the music scene until it disbanded in 1986. The album is perfectly matched by its surreal cover art, which sounds like it could have been scored for a movie set on a dark and stormy night.
