I remembered my trip to Budapest a few years ago when I visited a Michelin-starred restaurant for the first time.

It was quite an experience. One thing became crystal clear that day:

Until you place your napkin on your lap, no food arrives. Leave it on the table, and the waiter assumes you’re not ready to eat.

So there we sat, starving for nearly an hour, glaring at the poor waiter.🤦 😅

Love to eat, drink coffee, and read a book all at once. 

Wow it’s interesting😄 Indeed, you need to know the rules of etiquette. I've been in a similar situation myself. Although usually a normal waiter will prompt you so that there is no picante situation. Did you like the food there?
