Missouri artist Melissa McCracken paints music.  Synesthesia is a perceptual condition in which the stimulation of one sense causes the involuntary and automatic activation of another sense, and for Melissa as a person with synesthesia, the sounds she hears during the day (names of people, music on the radio, or any other sound)  They are translated into beautiful and vibrant colors that carry the weight of the melody.  Melissa's paintings stem from her desire to record her daily experiences so others can understand the bright and different world she lives in.
