We’re keeping them separate for now trying to let them get used to smells first. A little under door hissing from our older cat but that’s not too surprising. I think they’ll be fast friends

Yes, they will! I did something similar when I adopted my mom's cat. Have another one and the first days they were separated in order to get used to each others, they became friends and are always together now
