2. Subeknephru (1802-1806 BC) was the first female pharaoh of ancient Egypt, which the evidence definitely confirms. He was the last ruler of the twelfth dynasty after the death of his brother Amenemhat IV. She was the first queen whose name was derived from the crocodile god Sobek, who was a symbol of pharaonic power.
