Moving at the speed of US Government: The IRS Edition.

For years as a nomadic traveler, I've had to ask a family member to print out a form and mail a check for a very specific tax withholding for one of the business entities I manage.

There was no way to do it online. Until now!

To make the payment online, I just have to:
1) sign up to the EFTPS website
2) wait for a PIN to arrive in the mail - estimated 5-7 days
3) 2 weeks passes
4) I call someone after 5 min on the IRS call tree, who pretends he can't hear me (my room is echo-ey)
5) I call someone else, who is very helpful. She tells me that I added the wrong number on the form. They would have mailed me in a few weeks to let me know
6) I fill out the form again 

Future stuff: 
7) I wait another 5-7 days
8) my virtual mailbox receives the form & scans it
9) then I can create "an internet password" at the EFTPS website
10) then *maybe* I can make the payment myself!!!

That's progress folks!

Sounds like quite the adventure navigating the IRS online payment system! The process may be slow, but hopefully the convenience of online payments will make it all worth it in the end. Hang in there!
