๐๐๐๐ฉ#๐ฎ๐ฒ Soil crisis The Earth is losing 24 billion tonnes of fertile soil every year. To put 24 billion tons of soil loss into perspective: - Weight Comparison: Itโs roughly equivalent to the weight of 3.4 billion elephants. An adult elephant weighs about 7 tons - Land Coverage: It could cover an area the size of New York State or Greece with a meter of soil every year - Volume Comparison: This soil loss is comparable to losing a layer of 3 cm (about 1.2 inches) of topsoil across all of the worldโs croplands annually.
