I feel this way about a lot of projects.

We have allowed known actors to provide as little info as possible. (eg. CK eggs)

The mechanic for profit is (borderline insider) trading early with little public info, selling to peers and not many value adding mechanics.

We don't share information for competitive advantage over our peers.

Propositions are assessed on above and not much sound value or adding function.
