Don't force users to add a profile pic at sign up. Use whether they add a pfp later a signal as to whether they care enough about their app identity to add one.

You have the most leverage with a user adding something to their profile in the initial sign up flow I also think itβs encouraging an action which will result in a better experience for the user bc people like to see images on profiles and are probably more likely to engage compared to a profile with default image
