would you say the main benefit is expectation management with users? "don't expect onchain points to be fully baked the way you'd expect our capital T token to be baked"

Not necessarily - I feel like 99% of capital T tokens aren't fully baked today. I think it's more "we're onchain but not ready to hand over the full keys to the castle or even know how that would work but still want you to make money from being a power user"

Right, but an onchain point makes no promises beyond having a buy/sell price. Whereas a token has more structural obligations embedded (even though most are designed badly).

Yup thats exactly right. Onchain points let you buy and sell but there's no expectation of protocol governance or any deeper actions
