! The idea of truly autonomous AI—machines that can think, reason, and act independently like humans—remains a fascinating goal in both science and philosophy. While we’ve made incredible progress with AI that can learn, adapt, and perform complex tasks, we're still far from machines possessing genuine consciousness, self-awareness, or a fully autonomous sense of purpose.
For AI to reach true autonomy, it would need to:
- Develop a robust understanding of the world akin to human common sense.
- Make decisions based on its own objectives rather than pre-programmed goals or prompts.
