Bitcoin's halving event is a significant occasion that occurs approximately every four years, or after 210,000 blocks are mined. The halving reduces the reward that miners receive for adding new blocks to the blockchain by half, which effectively reduces the rate at which new bitcoins are introduced into circulation.
