@infecteddotfun has been incredibly successful in hyping up its community prior to their launch. 

It is certain that real users would play the game once Infected launched, but how many and how hard?

💠 What does this mean for traders on Base Revenue on Alkimiya?
If you’re a risk taker, are confident that Base Revenue will increase, or believe in the hype, then you would be inclined to make the first move in trading Base Revenue before Infected launched. With the alpha you have, filling orders would be your go-to.

If you’re risk-averse, need a better sense of the sentiments around the game, or want to see actual data before trading, then referring to our handbook while trading would be your best bet. The handbook will guide your mindset when looking at data and the market. However, the golden hour has passed and you would have to create a competitive order to catch the train.

Now that it’s been a few days since Infected’s launch and we finally have some data points, let’s dive in ⤵️

1️⃣ Daily Gas Spent
Pre-Infected (23 Feb): 43.515 ETH
Infected Day 1: 145.850 ETH
Infected Day 2: 140.949 ETH
That’s a 235% increase from pre-Infected to the first day!

💠 What does this mean for traders on Base Revenue on Alkimiya?
Generally, most of the hype is played out and exhausted within the first few days of an event, and we know that #Pandemic2025 is happening over the course of 7 days.

Let’s make an assumption that the highest daily Base Revenue for this event would be 145.850 ETH (Day 1). Unless Infected has a mini surprise event in the middle of it, activity is bound to slow down as the days pass. In other words, the growth of Total Base Revenue should decelerate for the rest of the week.

If you haven’t traded Base Revenue, you should consider taking a risk-averse approach.

2️⃣ Infected’s #Pandemic2025 Top Virus
There are 30 tokens (viruses) fighting for the top spot. To get there, the virus will need to have the most infected wallets (the number of Infecteds).

$ANTHRAX and $COVID are well ahead of the game and currently occupy the top 2 spots. Since there can only be one winning virus, the battle is between these two for now.

$ANTHRAX is currently ahead of $COVID by 27.4k wallets. For context, $COVID was originally  leading the pack by over 100k until $ANTHRAX took over.

💠 What does this mean for traders on Base Revenue on Alkimiya?
The traders (infectors) of $ANTHRAX and $COVID will fight to get their virus to the top for the rewards. If $COVID traders are ambitious, we can expect these two tokens to fight hard, which means more transactions and more gas spent.

3️⃣ Infected’s #Pandemic2025 Super Spreaders
There will be a total of 90 Super Spreaders — 3 Super Spreader per virus. To be one, players would have to rank top 3 in the number of wallets infected.

The viruses aren’t just fighting against the others; the traders of each virus are fighting each other as well. Think PvPvP.

What does this mean for traders on Base Revenue on Alkimiya?
Even if the top virus leads the pack by 1M, there will still be a PvP fight within that virus to rank top 3. Furthermore, due to the difference in rewards for each rank, the top 3 will fight amongst themselves too. More transactions and more gas spent yet again.

Due to the general market sentiment turning bearish, onchain activity has become quieter.

7dMA before Infected: 498.948 ETH
Current 7dMA: 636.531 ETH
That’s a ~30% increase in 2 days!

💠 What does this mean for traders on Base Revenue on Alkimiya?
Given that the 7dMA was low and an upcoming event garnered sufficient hype (by your own definition), the decision to make is clear.

If you traded before Infected launched, the 7dMA would have been a good benchmark for selecting which orders to fill.
