Ivan Kostantini Aivazovsky (Armenian: Ховнеш Костандині Айвазовски; Russian: Иван Константинович Айвазовский; born July 29, 1817 - died May 5, 1900), is an Armenian-Russian painter of world fame.  He lived and worked in Crimea.  He is best known for his seascapes, which comprise more than half of his works.  Many believe that Aivazovsky is one of the best seascape painters of all time.
