Psychologist Philip Tetlock once said: "We feel the need to believe that we live in a predictable and controlled world. Therefore, we listen to authoritative people who are ready to satisfy this need." The illusion of control seems more convincing to us than real uncertainty. Therefore, we gladly listen to stories about how everything is in our hands.
