Fomo aside, I think I’ve found my crypto quest for this week - will be checking out the platform and might report back (depending on how many thoughts I can actually share)

Started going through the available shorts on @shibuyafilm  yesterday. We can definitely discuss the shorts themselves here but now I’d rather touch upon the crow funding part of this platform.

*Some opinions below might be controversial, especially as perceived by our fellow onchain artists*

I have worked in film in various capacities my whole adult life - this includes physical production (retired AD here), development and overall more creative aspects of film and TV, and more recently, the business/tech side of post-production and distribution. This is not a brag in any way - just an overview of my career.

That said, being a pro in this business comes with a grain of skepticism towards independent/self-funded projects. Only a few turn out to be amazing, but the absolute majority miss the mark. Yup, applicable to student and homemade content as well as a hefty chunk of professional productions.
