The Yapper project is designed to automate the extraction and organization of data from scientific articles, with an initial focus on plant sciences, compounds, and their roles in human health.

This tool uses the gemini-1.5-flash-latest model from the Gemini API to extract plant names, compounds, and their roles from article abstracts.

Then, a self-validation loop verifies the accuracy of the extracted data by comparing it with the original abstracts.

The validated data is stored in Firebase Cloud Firestore and presented to researchers through a web-based user interface.
