Gm frens and fams 🖤 @awedjob.eth @jacque It's an hand drawn obsession 👇 Cyclopean Gaze delves into the surreal and unnerving with its depiction of a distorted face crowned by two large, unblinking eyes. The eyes, set within swirling, vibrant forms, suggest a hyper-awareness or a state of being watched, evoking feelings of paranoia and unease. The intense use of color and the chaotic lines reflect a mind overwhelmed by its own perceptions, creating a visual metaphor for the internal struggles of seeing too much and knowing too little. This artwork invites viewers to confront the overwhelming flood of stimuli and the fractured reality it can create.

Thank you for your cast. May I ask how you came up with this subject matter? What media did you use to create it? Are there revisions? How do you know when the piece is finished?

I thank you @awedjob.eth @jacque 🫶 it's a pleasure to answer your questions. How I Came Up with the Subject Matter: The subject matter of “Cyclopean Gaze” emerged from my exploration of the theme of perception and the overwhelming nature of constant observation in our digital age. I wanted to capture the feeling of being watched or hyper-aware, which often leads to a sense of paranoia or disorientation. The idea of using exaggerated, surreal eyes was a way to symbolize the intensity and distortion of our perceptions when they are under constant scrutiny, whether by society, technology, or even our own minds. Media Used: I created this piece using traditional media, primarily markers and ink on paper. The bold, vibrant colors and the fluid, expressive lines were achieved through layering different hues and allowing the ink to interact with the paper’s texture, which helped in conveying the chaotic and intense emotions I wanted to portray.

@awedjob.eth @jacque Revisions: As with many of my works, this piece underwent several stages of revision. Initially, the focus was solely on the face, but as the work evolved, I felt the need to emphasize the eyes more, making them the central focus to enhance the theme of perception. The revisions included adjusting the balance of colors and reworking the composition to ensure that the eyes dominated the piece without overwhelming the viewer. Knowing When the Piece Is Finished: Most of time it's an immediate feeling of "just stop now". I can feel it. Many works are works over a long time.
