Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin shared his thoughts on the state of the blockchain after The Merge and the development prospects in a blog post. The main result of the hard fork that took place in September 2022 was the transition from the Proof-of-Work consensus algorithm to Proof-of-Stake (PoS). Buterin called this event "long-awaited and hard-earned."
