DeFi was built as an alternative to traditional finance, yet the two are slowly converging. TradFi institutions are experimenting with DeFi-like tools, while DeFi protocols explore compliance frameworks to attract institutional capital.

The blending of these two models - DeFi’s openness and transparency with TradFi’s scale and regulatory frameworks - could result in a hybrid financial system that’s more efficient, accessible, and resilient. 

This system might use decentralised protocols as infrastructure, while traditional institutions provide user-friendly interfaces and consumer protections. 

Over time, we might see DeFi powering the backend of global finance, even if the end-user experience looks much like what they’re used to today.
