Spent today reading about Gustave Doré.

Really inspiring to see someone love their craft so much

By age 33 he already had more than 10 thousand works!

He started drawing at age 5, and got his first job at age 15 as a caricaturist for a French paper.

Known for his prolific output, he illustrated many notable literature works, like Dante's Inferno, Don Quixote, and the Bible.

He experimented with many techniques and topics. Engravings, caricatures, illustrations, paintings, you name it.

I saw one of his engravings while shopping at a street market in Barcelona, and immediately fell in love with his work.

Now I'm reading Gustave Doré, The Fantastic, and I can't recommend it enough.
