In principle, their goal is to make a system where you don't have to trust the devs. And I do think that they've gone further in that regard than many people give them credit for.

i agree w u on both. it’s not the devs i doubt. it’s the politics and people. erich schmidt is a big DOD booster. sam altman is openAI guy. to imagine USG isn’t involved in some way… is hard for me. i’d prefer a worldID effort that was orchestrated by a global community.

take a polygraph, and have your board do the same. i worked on 'special access programs' for over a decade. things only 8 people in congress were briefed to. usg wants access, and has authorities to use what it wants to gain it. they can't compel a company, but they can appeal to them.
