The two big factors in having a tip allocation is the total number of likes your root casts get per day (ie casts that aren’t reply-casts) and how long you’ve been on Farcaster (more specifically how long since your first root-cast in Farcaster).

Allocations are essentially a function that looks like (median number of likes over the last 7 days) * (1,2 or 3) depending on how many days you’ve been on Farcaster.

To clarify this a bit better: 
The likes considered in a given day is essentially the number of unique users who like your cast in a given day.
